What the numbers mean
- Monthly payment (EMI) — the fixed amount you pay each month.
- Total interest — the extra you pay on top of the amount borrowed.
- Total to repay — principal plus interest, the full cost of the loan.
The EMI formula
EMI = P × r × (1 + r)n ÷ ((1 + r)n − 1), where P is the loan amount, r is the monthly interest rate (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100), and n is the number of monthly payments.
Frequently asked questions
Is my financial information private?
Yes. Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded, stored, or shared.
Does it work for any currency?
Yes. The calculator is currency-agnostic — it uses whatever units your loan amount is in, so it works for dollars, rupees, pounds, euros and more.
Does it include fees or insurance?
No. It calculates principal and interest only. Real loans may add processing fees, insurance or taxes, so treat the result as a close estimate.
